The middle-order came to the rescue after the openers departed inside the powerplay overs. However, India had managed to accumulate 66 runs in the first six overs. Deepak Hooda, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya ensured that the runs came at the same rate as in the powerplays. India finished with 198 runs on the board for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs.
English captain Jos Buttler was dismissed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar for a golden duck on the fifth delivery of the first over of the innings. Hardik Pandya, who had already proved his mettle with the bat earlier, was given the ball to bowl the fifth over. He picked the wicket of Dawid Malan and Liam Livingstone to give India an edge over England. In his next over, Pandya dismissed Jason Roy for 4 runs and England lost the top four for just 33 runs. Harry Brook and Moeen Ali did add 61 runs for the fifth wicket, but Yuzvendra Chahal dismissed both of them in the 13th over. In the end, the entire English team was in the dugout in 19.3 overs and India won the game by 50 runs. The Men in Blue would be hoping for a similar result in this game as well. The players who were a part of the rescheduled Test will join the Indian team in this game which will be a huge boost.
